Letters from Whitechapel is a detective game created by the authors of Garibaldi and Mister X: Flight Through Europe, and inspired by the murders committed by Jack the Ripper and the desperate attempts by Scotland Yard to stop him. Every night, the player controlling Jack commits a new murder and tries to get to his hideout. In an intricate network of alleys, the agents must identify the route taken (looking for clues on the board) by calling the numbered boxes they think Jack has passed through or by trying to arrest him during his escape, always calling a numbered box and declaring an arrest attempt. Jack wins the game if he manages to make 5 victims without being captured, while his capture determines his defeat. Letters from Whitechapel is a tense and historically accurate game for 2-6 players, featuring atmospheric graphics and engaging illustrations. Also check out the Dear Boss expansion.
