Players will take on the roles of famous Marvel Heroes and work together to stop the master plan of a powerful game-controlled Villain. Each Villain reveals his unique master plan, along with cards that trigger various effects and threats that pose challenges in various areas. The heroes will have to carefully choose the cards to play from their unique decks, which not only offer different actions and superpowers to use, but also combine with the actions of other heroes to do the impossible and save the world!
The heroes that players will be able to play are Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Wasp, Ant-Man, while the Criminals, controlled by the game, are Red Skull, Ultron and Taskmaster.
The Villain always starts, whose actions are managed by the Master Plan Deck: depending on the card that is drawn and placed as the beginning of the story, the Villain can move from one place to another, apply effects that damage the heroes in various ways (called BAM EFFECT!), or add other Criminals and/or Civilians also in adjacent places.
Heroes, on the other hand, are committed to trying to defeat the super villain to win the game! In order to directly damage the Criminal however, the Heroes must first complete at least 2 of the 3 available Missions, which include the protection of Civilians and/or the defeat of the Criminals. After drawing from his deck, the player whose turn it is adds a card to the Story which will determine the actions he can carry out: the actions can be Attack, Movement or Intervention, to save a Civilian or foil a Threat.
There are also Joker actions and some cards with different Special Effects for each Hero.
Whenever 3 Hero cards have been added to the Story and resolved, 1 new Master Plan card is drawn from the deck, added to the end of the Story and resolved. By completing the first Mission, the Criminal will come under pressure, and will take his turn after only 2 Hero cards! By completing the second Mission, the Heroes will be able to directly attack the Criminal. The Heroes do not have to complete the third Quest as well, as if they manage to remove all Health Tokens from the Villain Sheet, they win the game! If, on the other hand, the Criminal satisfies the conditions of the Nefarious Plot described on his Sheet, if he has no more cards in his Supreme Deck, or if a player starts his turn with no cards in his hand and in his Hero Deck, the game ends and the players are defeated !
