Arrakis. Dunes. The Desert Planet. Hoist your banners over the vast wasteland that stretches out before you. As the Great Houses of the Landstraad gather their forces and spies, who will you decide to influence… or betray? A tyrannical Emperor. The mysterious Bene Gesserit. The Crafty Commerce Guild. The fierce Fremen of the Desert Depths. The power of the Empire may be yours, but there are other means than war to reclaim it.

DUNE: IMPERIUM is a deck-building and worker-placement game that draws inspiration from elements and characters from the Dune saga, the new Legendary Pictures film, and the best-selling novel series by Frank Herbert, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson .

The fate of the Empire depends on your choices. Will you seek political allies or will you rely on military might? The strength of the economy or the subtlety of the intrigues? A sigil of the council... or a sharp blade? The cards have been dealt. The choice is up to you. The Empire awaits you.
Check out the Spice. Control the Universe.

Objective: Each player is the Leader of one of the great Houses of the Landsraad and will have to defeat his rivals in combat, exert political influence and forge alliances with the 4 main factions. His successes will be measured in Victory Points.
At the end of a round, if any player has 10 or more Victory Points or if the Conflict deck is empty, the game ends and whoever has the most Victory Points wins.

Deck Building: Each player starts the game with a 10-card deck containing the same cards as the other players. Adding and changing cards in that deck is an essential element in a deck building game. During each round players acquire new cards and as they affect many
different aspects, each player's deck and strategy will eventually differ as the game progresses.

Agents (Worker Placement) : Each player starts the game with 2 Agents (and can get a third one during the game). He will send these Agents to spaces on the board, sometimes collecting resources, sometimes paying resources to advance his own.

In DUNE: IMPERIUM , Agents and cards are closely linked: a player cannot send an Agent to a space on the board without first playing a card that allows it.
