Escape the Dark Castle is a simple fantasy adventure game for 1-4 players, with a focus on atmosphere, storytelling and fun, qualities that make it perfect even for newcomers to board games.
It takes 2 minutes to prepare, a game lasts about 30 minutes and each castle is randomly generated, so that no two games are the same.
The rules are simple and you can learn them by playing: you will therefore be ready to start the game within 5 minutes.
A word of warning: although it is simple, you will often get beaten by this sneaky game! If you fail, try again and we hope you enjoy exploring a new castle every time, regardless of the end result.
Wrongfully incarcerated deep within the Dark Castle, you and your fellow prisoners embark on a desperate search for a way to escape. But the castle is a treacherous place, full of horrors, traps and challenges, each of which is represented in the game by one large, beautifully illustrated Chapter card.
The aim of the game is to overcome all the cards that make up the Castle deck trying to make all the members of your group survive. If you succeed, you can escape the Dark Castle together and win the game. But if someone were to die along the way, the game would immediately end and you would be forced to try again!
