I really enjoyed this book. It captures the essential challenge people face as they try make sense of their lives and grow to adulthood.

Rising Sun, set in legendary feudal Japan, places players in command of sacred Clans, gathered by the great Kami to reconquer the Japanese lands and restore them to their honorable spiritual traditions.

Each Clan will use its special abilities to spread its forces throughout the Provinces, harvest the fruits of the land and wage war against their opponents. As the seasons progress from spring to summer and finally autumn, players will be able to improve their Clans by equipping them with strategic upgrades, bountiful virtues and even powerful monsters that have emerged from legends to support their cause. Also, Clans would do well to worship the gods properly, as each Kami can bestow other powerful abilities. However, diplomacy can prove to be an even more powerful tool, allowing Clans to forge mutually beneficial alliances and work their way to victory through negotiation. In this political arena, honor is more precious than gold, but even treachery can turn the tide of war. Battles will not be won by brute force, but by strategy and cunning.
