“War of the Worlds: New Invasion” is an asymmetric map-based deck-building game for 2 players.
One of the two players will be in command of the Alien invasion forces and the other will be in charge of the defense forces of the United Kingdom. Each player will have a personalized starting deck from which to draw and to reinforce throughout the game, with specific cards from their own faction. The goal to achieve victory will also be different, as will the strategies needed to defeat the opponent.
The events of the game take place some years after the story told in the novel "The War of the Worlds" by Herbert G.
Wells. A new extraterrestrial invasion is underway, but this time the Martians have arrived aboard a huge ship
spacecraft and landed in an isolated region of Scotland.
The Italian edition also includes the Irish Sea expansion, with the map of Ireland, new cards and new game rules.
