In The Infinity Gauntlet: A Love Letter Game, 1 player plays the role of the Mad Titan Thanos, who will try to accumulate the 6 Infinity Stones and use them to gain ultimate power. Meanwhile, 1 to 5 other players will gather heroes to battle Thanos, thwart his plans, and save the universe!
Players play cards representing heroes, villains, and the Infinity Stones to fight for the fate of the universe.
There are 2 teams: Thanos is a 1 player team and all other players are on the other team. The game ends when one of the two teams is out of life or when Thanos accumulates all 6 Infinity Stones and snaps his fingers.
The game essentially plays like the classic Love Letter. On their turn, each player draws a card and plays a card, applying its effect. But in this case the decks are differentiated by team and Thanos always draws two cards.
Some cards, once played, allow you to fight an opponent to try to defeat 1 of his cards. When 1 of your cards is defeated, your team loses 1 Life, thus approaching one of the possible outcomes of the game. Unlike the original Love Letter game however, no player will ever find themselves “going out of the round” in this game.
