There are a lot of extraordinarily happy people in the Munchkin world. Warriors slaying tons of monsters, adventurers hoarding all possible treasures, heroes leveling up… heck, there are even halflings who stay at home devouring pies all day long!

But Munchkin's world can also be sad and shrouded in darkness. A place where munchkins are all too often treacherously beaten by their own adventure companions, while having the misfortune of picking up a duck of destiny, or devoured by a dragon. The heroes go too far into the catacombs, and fall down deep pits, losing everything they've gathered. And this, before even dying.
DIE A DEPRESSING DEATH!
The special and transparent cards that you will find in this box show the munchkins and detail their characteristics and misfortunes. By stacking them, the topmost cards will show or cover the effects of the cards below them, and the total that will appear between the images will give you your score. To win you will have to lead your adventuring party through terrible deeds and tribulations until, inevitably, they will not reach the moment of their painful DEATH!
