The ashes of the Great War still darken the snow of Europe in the 1920s. The capitalist city-state known simply as “The Factory,” which had fueled the war with heavily armed Mechs, has now closed its doors, attracting the attention of many neighboring countries.

In Scythe, each player represents a character trying to make their faction the richest and most powerful in Eastern Europe. Players explore and conquer territory, recruit new recruits, produce new resources and workers, build structures and deploy monstrous Mechs.
The game also contains the rules: "Automa" to play alone against the game.
