Old-world Tuscany awaits your winemaking talents and strategic cunning. You'll plant vines, harvest grapes, age wines, and handle merchant orders in order to create the largest winery in Italy!
You own a few plots of land, an old pressing vat, a small cellar, 3 workers… and the dream of becoming the owner of the best winery in Italy. Your goal is to position your workers and helpful visitors in a way that complete different tasks during the year. Each season in the vineyard is different from the others, so the workers will have different tasks to take care of in summer and winter. There will be competition to get those tasks done, and often the first worker to arrive will have an advantage over everyone else. Using workers and visitors, you can expand your vineyard by building structures, planting vines, and fulfilling wine orders, as you work your way to becoming the owner of Tuscany's most successful winery.
What changes compared to the second edition of Viticulture? Uwe Rosenberg (Agricola, Caverna, Bohnanza, etc...) helped the authors to combine the second edition with some elements of Tuscany: Mama & Papas, vineyards, various visitor cards and the automaton (solitaire variant). It is a more robust version of Viticulture without adding the complexity of some Tuscany expansions. Mamas & Papas give players a few different starting resources, vineyard cards allow you to sell unused vineyards for a cash flow, and more visitor cards you select offer more variety.
