X-Men: Mutant Insurrection is a cooperative game for one to six players.
Each player takes on the role of a member of the X-Men and teams up with others to fight against criminals, save mutants in danger, and prove to the world that mutants are not to be feared.
The plots of some X-Men adversaries put both humans and mutants in danger. Over the course of a game, players will have to overcome a main storyline and the dangers it entails, leading up to a confrontation
ending with a classic X-Men foe.
Through special plot cards you start the mission. Each player deploys his own hero and, if he has deployed him on a mission card, then tries to complete it by rolling dice representing different abilities.
When fighting, each hero involved in the fight will roll his dice, trying to obtain the results required by the card, obtaining rewards or penalties depending on the outcome of the test.
Special note: it will be possible to create bonds (friendship, love…) between the characters which will thus enhance their resources. Just as Betrayals and Regrets can instead weaken them.
Meanwhile, the threat rises and the dangers increase, until the final showdown.
